Friday (25th of april 2008) my team and me faced our second game in the Hospital Italiano Footboll League. We had expected an easy win, because our oppenent was at the very bottom of the table. To cut a long story short: Now it is us holding the bottom position.
We were beaten with the same result as one week before – 2:5. Even the nice shirts, which Cristian, our new goalkeeper had organized, couldn´t motivate us enough. This time it was only our own fault, because the other team was really crap. We had the better players, we were just not well organized, it was to easy for our opponent to break through our defense. And in the offense we missed to many chances against a goalkeeper, who did the job probably for the first time in his entire life.
After the game, nobody could tell why we had performed so badly. May be some of us are too nervous?
“Internacional” played with Cristian, Raj, Matt, Max, Patrice, Gerrardo and Jan.
Our two goals were scored by Gerrardo and Jan.
This time I really wanted to take a picture of the team. I brought my camera and left the battery at home…

  1. Max

What a dissapointment! It’s one thing losing a relegation scrap, it’s another thing getting tonked 5 – 2! Never mind. Conceded an early goal second week in a row which got us off on the wrong foot again. I think we weren’t aggressive enough, didn’t take enough shots and were indecisive in defense. They simply wanted to win more.

    What you think?????

  2. Patrice

Next week we’ll smash them. Just need to sort our lives out.

  3. Linus

im really sad for you brother, but its the hell interesting how you grow up so far away

  4. JEG

some changes in the tactics, some more concentration, some prayers, may be some drugs for the nervous ones among us, but first of all we need a masseuse.
indecisive in defense we were, I agree, Max. That shouldn´t happen again.

  5. Cristian

    Nos falto huevos!!

  6. Linus

    esta frase no tiene sentido

  7. i´m with you guys!
my team lost too yesterday, and let´s say it was more of a giving up than just losing.
    0-8
    i know how you feel!
    but always remember:
after the game is before the game

  8. Max

Exactly, bring on game number 3, I’m gonna be pumped up for it!!!

  9. Jonathan

  10. Karen

You may have lost the soccer game, but you are an interesting writer and a decent poker player. I will enjoy following your stories, Jan. Thanks for sending the blog address!

  11. da hab ich doch gleich die idee:
jan kauf mich frei. ihr könnt doch einen athletischen, dynamischen und zweikampfstraken defensivallrounder gebrauchen!
    bin billig zu haben.
    see u

Since the 25th of January I am in Lima and will stay here for a while. This is a blog about my time in Latin America. I have been here since the 4th of dec 2007 when I arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been traveling to Chile and and Argentina in december 2007 and the lived in Buenos Aires for a year. During that I time I traveled to Uruguay with Nev from Australia in March 2008 and to Patagonia in October together with Robby, Vildan and Anahita from my hometown in Germany. In december 2008 I traveled alone to the northwest of Argentina. There I met up with Robby and we traveld together to Bolivia and Peru. I started this blog on the 4th of April 2008 so you won't find any posts about Uruguay or Chile in here.
