“Boca, no podés perder” [E: Boca, you can't lose]

Sunday I went to another Boca-match with Bárbi. Her brother Juan-Pablo was the driver again and this time they brought their father too. They picked me up close to Luna Park, right in the City Centre of Buenos Aires and we made our way to the stadium. During the ride, I asked for the details of the match. Boca was facing Arsenal F.C. from Avellaneda, which is in the Provincia of Buenos Aires, but really close to Capital Federal.
Arsenal last year had won the what here is like the UEFA-Cup in Europe, but in the Argentine League they are only in the middle of the table.
Because Boca doesn’t have a good chance to win the Clausura anymore, the best players took a break to concentrate on the more important Copa Libertadores-Match next week in Brasil. Apart from the goalkeeper, nobody from the usual starting Eleven was on the pitch.
At the very beginning the spectators welcomed Boca’s keeper with a warm applause. By an easy mistake, he had been responsible for Boca not winning their last Copa Libertadores match. I write he was responsible, but actually no Boca fan would ever blame him. There is no accusation, if a Boca player makes a mistake, there is only more cheering for this certain player.
Boca had a good start into the match, but because there were so many young and unexperienced players on the pitch, they were missing some coolness on finishing. So it was only 0:0 at halftime.
During the break, the Bocitas, Boca’s Cheerleaders were trying to warm us up a bit, but they only did the same dance they had shown on my last Boca Match-boring!
Directly after the break (46.), Arsenal went into lead by a header after a nice cross, and from this time on, the match got really good.
The fans started cheering louder now and motivated the young Boca Players. Arsenal was under pressure and Boca equalized in the 58th minute.
Boca kept the pressure and were now the abolute dominating team. They turned the result in the 74th and finished with the 3-1 in the 80th minute. Mauro Boselli scored all goals, which means a hat-trick. As if this wasn’t enough, he scored the last of his three goals by a falling overhead kick.
There were quite a few good chances to score more goals, but only Boselli was able to hit. The other players seemed to be a bit nervous in front of the goal.
It was really a highly entertaining game and big fun. Muchas gracias, Bárbi!

About
Since the 25th of January I am in Lima and will stay here for a while. This is a blog about my time in Latin America. I have been here since the 4th of dec 2007 when I arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been traveling to Chile and and Argentina in december 2007 and the lived in Buenos Aires for a year. During that I time I traveled to Uruguay with Nev from Australia in March 2008 and to Patagonia in October together with Robby, Vildan and Anahita from my hometown in Germany. In december 2008 I traveled alone to the northwest of Argentina. There I met up with Robby and we traveld together to Bolivia and Peru. I started this blog on the 4th of April 2008 so you won't find any posts about Uruguay or Chile in here. Links
